Bespoke

A collection of bespoke jewellery and spoons, influenced from stages of my life.

The Nedebele/ Zulu seed bead collection of jewellery and spoons named 'Peace range 2000' was influenced by the release of Presedent Mandela as a celebration of the 'Rainbow Nation' and 'Peace' from the long strugle of apartheid in South Africa.

As a white South African person I was loved and mothered by important people, two of whom influenced the early years in my life they where beautiful and powerful Zulu women, Mary Sithole and Elizabeth Zulu.

The Ndebele's influence was driving through 'Kwazulu Natal' as a child being overwelmed by the amazing colour and shapes of the various patterns adorning the Ndebele homes all painted and decorated individually in their shapes and colour by the women of the household.

The multi ring combinations are all different colours and finishes ie. flat, court, full rounds and beaten. influenced by my enjoyment of fiddling and playing with whatever jewellery I am wearing.

I love things to move, turn, and come apart, and make jewellery which is functiional and can be worn alongside or with almost anything you have in your jewellery box, playing with the combinations of different metals e.g. 18ct yellow, white or red golds and silver and allowing you to make your own unique combinations.

Jewellery is fabulous and a wonderful expression of you.
